West Country Hides offer a range of the best quality cowhide skin rugs for sale produced in the South West of England, which can be used as a floor covering, wall hanging or a throw in your home, creating a feeling of warmth and luxury. Each carefully selected cowhide is chrome tanned to produce a soft leathery feel, whilst protecting the natural colouring of the cowhide.
For over 100 years, the Baker family have farmed and operated an abattoir and meat wholesale business in Nailsea, near Bristol South West England.
The current owner, Toby Baker, recently identified a gap in the hide skins market for British cowhides and sheep skin rugs sales. The vast majority of cowhides sold in the UK are imported from South American countries. West Country Hides use only cowhides from cattle reared in the South West of England and slaughtered at the Bakers of Nailsea abattoir.
	Toby Baker and his two sons hand pick only those cowhides which meet the highest standards required for processing. After intense research an Italian tannery was selected to chrome tan the cowhides to produce a luxurious furnishing product of the highest quality which is sure to add a distinctive touch to your home.
	Please remember no two cowhides are the same, each is a natural and unique product with its own special characteristics. On occasion the cowhides may not lie completely flat to the floor or may have some unusual markings or blemishes. This is to be expected from any natural product and in fact only adds to the uniqueness and character of your cowhide rug. The cowhides are as hard wearing as they are spectacular and over of time will give you many years of pleasure.
